Today I start the long journey to the 2016 Australia Open. I have an overnight layover in Portland which means I get to see some of my family tonight. The Australian Open is one of 4 major tennis tournaments held in 2106 – the other three being the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. It features men's and women's singles; men's, women's and mixed doubles and junior's championships; as well as wheelchair, legends and exhibition events. I’ll be keeping you posted in how I do.
Fantastic day- I won my first round in the Australian Open 6-2, 6-3. Tomorrow I will play the local home town Australian player.
Another exciting day! South Africa's Lucas Sithole and I won the Australian Open Doubles. It was our first time playing together. Our scores were 6-1, 6-3. It was a great way to end the day of tennis. Tomorrow I will play for a chance to make it into the singles final on Saturday. Keep watching!
