This week, David and Nick face off against other titans to defend their title of eight time Doubles World Champions in Mission Viejo, California. David says he has been gearing up, “spending four days a week in the gym working out and six days a week on the court.” The pair has won more than 250 quad doubles matches together, an outstanding feat! The runner ups from 2014, a British pairing, are also returning to take on Wagner and Taylor for what is sure to be a must see rematch. The Championship format will have a round robin phase preceding the final.
Today is our first match in defense of our doubles world championship title. We play tonight starting at 6:30.
Here are some pictures of us from the tennis venue.
Great news- we won 6-3, 6-1
We did it!!!
Nick and I won our 9th Doubles World Championships. We came from a 2-0 down to take the last three games in the opening set of the finals. This was against Jamie Burdekin and Andy Lapthorne, the British second seeds who we lost to in the round robin phase of the competition. We struggled against them and it was fantastic to beat them in the finals. Thank you to everyone for all of your support.
