When did you make the decision to start using a mixture of intermittent catheters and male externals? And what is the benefit of that decision?
For me, the initial decision to use a male external catheter was, partly, like I said - because of the fear of my body rejecting the intermittent catheters and what not. But, five years out, after using male external catheters exclusively, I had a pretty nasty bladder infection - where I was hospitalized. My bladder wasn't fully emptying so we had to come across the next step as what to do to remain healthy and be active and still live the life I wanted to live. So that is where I made the choice to go from 24/7 male external catheters to intermittent cathing.
