What type of continence solutions have you had experience with along your journey?
Well, after my accident, one of the first things that we had to figure out was how to take care of that incontinence issue. So, for me, they were trying all different types of ideas and thoughts and the most readily available or easiest solution for me was to use a male external catheter connected to a leg bag. Part of the reason for that was my fear or uncertainty of using an intermittent catheter on a regular basis. Were my hands going to be strong enough to do that? Would my body reject it? How would my body feel? So that fear was there for the first few years so as a result, we went with a male external catheter.
